Parenting a neurodivergent child can bring extraordinary joy—and extraordinary exhaustion.
Parenting a neurodivergent child can bring extraordinary joy—and extraordinary exhaustion. This workshop explores the emotional landscape of parents raising children with Autism, ADHD, and related neurotypes. Clinicians will examine how a child’s dysregulation can trigger caregiver stress and overstimulation, leading to cycles of co-dysregulation and shutdown. Through a neurodiversity-affirming lens, clinicians will learn practical tools to help parents recognize overwhelm, restore regulation, and sustain caregiving with compassion and balance.
This interactive session offers evidence-informed strategies, reflective discussion, and language that reduces parent shame while strengthening family resilience. Additionally, this training equips clinicians to support both parent and child in navigating big feelings with empathy and skill.
